Why tradies join Safe As Houses

Better leads, fair pricing and customers who already trust you.

Exclusive

One lead, one tradie

We never send the same job to three tradies. If you accept it, it’s yours.

Pre-chosen

Customers who’ve picked you

Homeowners see your profile and choose you before we send you the job.

Pay per lead

No lock-in

No sign-up fee or subscription. Your first few leads are free, then a set fee per lead, priced by trade.

Ongoing work

Regular jobs

Tradies with a strong track record can get scheduled jobs through our Home Care membership.

How leads work

Simple, fair and fast. You stay in control of which jobs you take.

Step 1

A homeowner tells us the job

The trade, the job, their suburb and when they need it done.

Step 2

They choose your profile

They can skip up to two profiles, so when a lead reaches you, they’ve already picked you.

Step 3

You get the lead

By text and email: the job type, suburb, timing, estimated job value and the lead price.

Step 4

Accept within 30 minutes

Just tap accept or decline. No need to call yet. If we don’t hear from you, the job goes to the next tradie.

Step 5

Contact them within 24 hours

Get in touch with the homeowner to arrange a time to quote.

Step 6

We check in after the job

We ask the homeowner how it went, so good work gets noticed.

What homeowners see on your profile

Your profile is how homeowners decide to choose you, so it pays to make it count.

✓  Your name, photo and business name

✓  Trades, services and suburbs you cover

✓  Licence or registration number

✓  Years in business

✓  Your Safe As Houses checked badge

✓  A short intro in your own words

✓  Reviews from Safe As Houses customers

What leads cost

Lead prices are set by trade, based on the typical job size. You’ll always see the exact price before you accept, and your first few leads are free.

Bigger jobs

Plumbing, electrical, roofing and gutters

$90 to $120

per lead

Everyday jobs

Handyman, painting and carpentry

$60 to $80

per lead

Regular jobs

Gardening and cleaning

$30 to $50

per lead

Prices are a guide and may change. Other trades are priced individually, and we’ll tell you the price before your first lead.

How we compare with the big lead sites

The big sites can be cheaper per lead. But a cheap lead isn’t a cheap job. When several tradies chase the same homeowner, you win fewer of them, so what really counts is what you pay for each job you actually win.

Safe As Houses

One homeowner, one tradie

✓  Every lead goes to you only, never shared

✓  The homeowner has already chosen your profile

✓  No subscription, no lock-in

✓  Your first few leads are free

✓  Decline a job, pay nothing

✓  Your checked badge builds trust before you call

The big lead sites

One job, several tradies

✓  Often cheaper per lead

✕  Leads often shared with up to three tradies

✕  A race to call first, then quote against each other on price

✕  Usually a monthly subscription on top of lead fees

✕  Tradie checks vary from site to site

The checks you’ll need to pass

Our customers trust you with their home. These checks earn that trust, and set you apart from tradies on other lead sites.

Our code of conduct

Every Safe As Houses tradie agrees to these standards before they get their first lead.

01

Written quotes first

Give a clear written quote before any work starts.

02

Small deposits only

Never ask for full payment upfront.

03

No cash-only jobs

Every customer gets a proper invoice.

04

No pressure selling

No “today only” deals or rushing anyone into a decision.

05

Fair market prices

Charge within the fair market range for the job.

06

Respect, always

Treat every customer and their home with respect.

Keeping standards high

We contact the homeowner after every job to ask what they were charged and how it went, and compare it with your quote and the typical market range for that job in Melbourne. Most jobs need nothing more. If something doesn’t add up, we’ll talk to you first.

What happens if you don’t follow our policies

First time

Warning and refund

A written warning, and we ask you to refund the homeowner anything charged above the market range.

If it happens again

No more leads

We stop sending you leads.

Serious breach

Removed straight away

Dishonesty, pressure tactics, unsafe work or taking advantage of an older customer.

Questions from tradies

Is there a sign-up fee?

No. You only pay for leads you accept, after your free leads are used.

Do I have to accept every lead?

No. Accept the ones that suit you, and you’re never charged for a lead you decline.

What if I miss the 30 minutes?

The job goes to the next tradie. Missing the odd one is fine, but if it happens a lot, we’ll check you still want leads.

Do I need a licence?

If your trade requires one in Victoria, yes. Handyman and garden work may not, but you’ll still need an ABN, insurance and a police check.

Which areas do you cover?

We’re starting with selected areas of Melbourne. Tell us where you work and we’ll let you know.

How long does approval take?

Once we have your documents, we aim to get back to you within a few business days.
